Regional collaboration.
Better health decisions.

Founded in 2015 under the leadership of the Turkish Evidence Based Medicine Society, with support from TİKA — the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency.

A regional platform for sharing expertise and strengthening evidence-informed health policy, connecting countries from the Balkans to Central Asia.

What is health technology assessment?

Health technology assessment is a multidisciplinary field of policy analysis. It considers the medical, economic, social, ethical, legal and organizational aspects of the development, distribution and use of medical technologies.

It supports informed decisions about health technologies by bringing together evidence from different disciplines.

Who takes part?

The initiative brings together representatives of ministries of health and other governmental agencies with experience in quality improvement, evidence-based medicine and health technology assessment.

Their professional backgrounds include medicine, pharmacy, nursing, management and economics, with additional expertise in health policy, health economics and quality improvement.
